Movie Club 4 Families - FAQs
How does this work?
Movie Club 4 Families is a subscription based DVD-of-the-month club. When you subscribe to our service we provide you with a monthly DVD. On that DVD are four movies, two feature movies and two short movies. Think of Movie Club 4 Families like a periodical, except instead of getting a magazine with articles and essays, you get a DVD with movies on it.
We also provide monthly family discussion questions related to the movies you receive and a member discussion board. Both of these are available on the website when you login.
Is this like netflix or other online rental programs?
Movie Club 4 Families is not a rental service. Members of our club get one DVD in the mail every month, and it is yours to keep. We spend a lot of time finding great movies for the whole family, and all you have to do is wait for it in the mail then sit back and enjoy.
What movies will I get?
All of the movies have been deemed "Family Safe" by our panel of parents. Family Safe means that our panel of parents has deemed that all of the content is appropriate for the whole family and all ages. We not only look into the language and visual images in the film, but also take into consideration the themes and story. Our panel has parents with kids of a variety of ages (from toddlers to teenagers) and tries to gauge how other parents may react as well.
From time to time there may a movie with content that could be a little too scary or mature for some audiences, but our panel still thought it was a worthwhile movie to share with our club members. When this happens your monthly discussion questions will let you know. Since you know your kids the best, you can make the final determination for those movies. Otherwise, we believe that all of our movies are Family Safe.
How do you pick your movies?
We are constantly working with distributors and filmmakers to find great family movies. When we find a movie that we think will be a good fit for the club, our panel of parents watches it to make sure it is Family safe. How do I cancel my membership?
Please give us one month’s notice to cancel your subscription. All cancellation requests must be received by the last day of the month to avoid charges being made to your account for the next month’s DVD. How much does it cost?
A monthly subscription is $16.95/month + $4.95 shipping and handling.
Can I get these movies in stores?
Most of the movies that we use are not available in stores and are hard or impossible to find anywhere else. Many have been released on DVD but never got a wide distribution, or aren’t available in stores anymore. Most of the short films that we feature have only been screened at film festivals, and never released to the public.
How can I submit a movie for consideration in Movie Club 4 Families?
